How many times have you heard the words, “Enjoy it! It goes by so fast?” A new Ithaca based theatre group, The Civic Ensemble, wants to hear your stories!
"Whether you are the mother of a two-year old or the grandfather of a 10 year-old you know you can't stop time. They just keep growing and changing. You also have an abundance of stories to tell. The Civic Ensemble’s first annual community-based play will be developed from the stories of Ithaca area parents. No theatre or acting experience is necessary and everyone welcome."
PARENT STORIES
*Is an opportunity for parents to come together and tell stories about
the childrearing experience from birth to college to grandkids.

*Welcomes any parent (meaning parents, foster parents, step-parents, and grandparents.
Anyone who has taken responsibility for raising a child) who is interested in the project whether they
have theatre experience or not!
*Will be performed at the Kitchen Theatre Company in the Spring
of 2013

Free YMCA membership to First Graders!!
From the YMCA:
Calling all First Graders:
The YMCA of Ithaca & Tompkins County is spearheading an amazing initiative. One of the Y’s goals is to develop strong and healthy communities...but where to begin? What is the best way to create a Y community buzz? For starters: we want every 1st grader in the Tompkins and surrounding counties to be a member at the Ithaca Y. What is the best way to accomplish that, you ask? Give them a FREE membership! That’s right, any first grader who comes to the YMCA of Ithaca will receive a FREE Youth Membership, which won’t expire until August 2013 (WOW - that’s a $100 value!!). If you have any questions, please contact the Y at 607-257-0101 or email usatinfo@ithacaymca.com. See You Soon!
**Please note, in their message, there is a coupon mentioned, but not attached to the message. I highly recommend contacting the Y to get the complete information before heading in to get your first grader's membership.
